Mt. Everest in My Hat

That old font of information (Gullible.com) had this to say today: that Mt. Everest has never been climbed by a person wearing a wig or toupee.

That really struck a nerve with yours truly. How do they know that? Did they ask every climber if he was bewigged? And what if hair extensions were used — do they count? Were women even included in this survey? Perhaps embarrassed balding men, like tennis-great Andre Agassi (whom I hasten to add has never, to my knowledge, climbed Mt. Everest), would have lied about their locks.

I’ll go one more: Mt. Everest has never been climbed by a person NOT wearing a hat. And whether the climber wore a wig or was utterly bald, he stayed warm and looked good.
