A Deserted Island – Just Me And My Hat

Hartford York Hats - Men's Scala Wool Cap - The Wool Greek FishermanA Reader’s Digest filler, quoting findings from a survey by the American Animal Hospital Association, said nearly half of the North Americans asked admit their pets listen to them better than their spouses. (Maybe that’s why an incredible 93% will risk their lives for that of their pet).

What I found truly intriguing though, was the finding that a full 50% would rather be stranded on a deserted island with a dog or cat than another human being!

Intriguing because I found myself in full agreement…for a moment at least. I’m sure that if I gave it more thought, I’d choose my beloved spouse of course, but still, I understand the reasoning behind the choice.

There’s the unconditional acceptance; the lack of ability to worry; and no accusations would ever be lodged in your direction: “I told you we needed a crew, but ooohhhh, no, you said you could sail this thing!”.

Just day-dreaming in my captain’s hat…
