Hats and Hairdresser Bills

Hartford York Hats - Jonathan Richard Wool Newsboy Cap - The Dobby NewsboyThere’s a conversation about hair dye over at The Boomer Chronicles – the time involved, the problems, the expense. In fact, more than one person said they wished they were brave enough to shave all their hair off.

I don’t much care about hair one way or the other – but I’ll admit I’m sometimes extremely glad that I’ve got lots of hats to choose from when I need to hide my pre-shower bed hair (like for a quick morning run to the corner store). I look so much more put together in a newsboy than with tufts of hair sticking up at wild angles all over my head.

As for hair coloring, again it just doesn’t hold my interest that much. I’d much rather spend my money on hats, frankly, because I like them and they’re more versatile than a anything a man’s head of hair can look like. And as for the time committment required to regularly attend the hairdresser for color, cut and style, well, I’d rather be doing just about anything than sit in that chair for more than my usual 5 minutes a couple times a year.
