Living Lies: Hats of the Rich, Famous and Humorous

Hartford York Hats & Accessories for Men and Women - Men's Scala Wool Felt Porkpie - The EdgemorePsychology Today takes a look at humor styles, saying that the manner in which you deploy your sense of humor indicates a lot about how you relate to others and to yourself.

I don’t much enjoy (or use) “real world put-down humor”, barbs aimed at others in an attempt to make the teller look good. Instead, I prefer a blend of humor styles: “bonding” and “laughing at life”. Seems I’m in pretty good company there – Ellen DeGeneres and Dave Barry were cited as prime examples of self-enhancing types of humor.

One thing puzzles me, though. I never see Ellen or Dave in a hat: a wig, yes (Dave). A tiara, also yes. (Ellen). But a hat? No, not that I can recall.

You’ve gotta wonder why they’re keeping their love of hats such a secret.

That’s all.

But thanks for reading,
