Do Tinfoil Hats Really Work?

Hartford York Hats - Scala Antiqued Leather Safari Hat - The DonovanUsed to “shield the brain from such influences as electromagnetic fields, or against mind control and/or mind reading”, tinfoil hats are a must-have in these days of Scientology-spouting stars (Cruise, Travolta et al).

My only concern – besides appearance, naturally – is that I may have to stop wearing mine when I’m on the computer.

You see, over at GullibleInfoCom, I read that lightning strikes destroy computer motherboards once every 3.7 seconds. Admittedly, it was not noted as to whether or not tinfoil hats were being worn by users at the time…but, why chance it?
