Hat Care for all responsible hat owners

Hartford York - Brent Black Handwoven Panama Hat - The Montecristi Aficionado

1. No pinching. Handle all hats by the brim–otherwise the crown of a straw fedora may crack, or the oils from your fingers will ruin a felt hat.

2. Crown it. When your hat is not on your head, it should be resting upside down on its crown.

3. No Sweat. Dry out your sweatband regularly, by flipping it over and leaving it exposed until dry.

There’s more to the love and care of hats at a site called HatShapers, but no sense in diving into the deep end all at once. Which reminds me – if you get your hat wet by way of snow or rain (or diving into the deep end), let it dry naturally.

Naturally!
