Non-physical factors score higher in beauty – survey

A while ago, I remember being impressed with the results of a Dove Face Care Survey which found that more than half the women asked said that ads for cosmetics touting beauty and/or youth enhancers were actually damaging to their self-esteem. Women, buried by the unceasing bombardment of unrealistic physical beauty products, tend to tune out and become depressed.

Instead of extolling “skin deep beauty”, the ladies said they defined nonphysical characteristics (ie., personality and confidence) as truly beautiful – and in a related survey, men agreed wholeheartedly, adding that intelligence is another non-physical trait that makes a woman truly beautiful.

According to these findings, I go way past beautiful. Other than the gender, I’ve got it all: the sparkling personality, nearly unbelievable levels of confidence, and an intelligence factor that just doesn’t quit.

Add a hat to the mix, and I’ll soft shoe to the mirror for some happy one-on-one time.
